Community Engagement Archaeologist

I read archaeology and anthropology at Lampeter and subsequently researched a PhD on contested heritage. I have worked in the heritage industry tour guiding at Iron Age and Roman sites in Wales. Since 2014 I have been engaged in projects using archaeology to promote good mental health and wellbeing. I love working with our magnificent FROG volunteers on the Thames Discovery Programme and very much enjoy taking people on guided walks on the foreshore. I’ve recently completed a project supported by the City Bridge Trust. As part of this project we did mosaic making with older Londoners and pottery (inspired by foreshore finds) with Mind members . I’m hoping to be able to do more work using foreshore archaeology to support mental health and well-being in the future.
