Foreshore archaeology guided walk

Bring the children and join one of our professional archaeologists to find out about the archaeology of the of the Western side of the City of London. Learn about the City of London waterfront from its Roman origins through its last surviving Mediaeval wharf to the Victorians and the 20th Century. This walk is best suited for children age 8+ years and isn’t suitable for children under 6. Please do get in touch if you have any questions.

The meeting point for this walk is at the top of Trigg Lane Steps next to the Millenium Bridge.

Places are limited so booking is essential! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please book a ticket for each child.

The foreshore surface can be uneven and muddy – please wear sturdy footwear; boots or wellies are recommended open toed sandals are not! In case of inclement weather, the walks may be postponed or cancelled.

• Come if you have COVID-19 symptoms, if you or someone in your household has had a positive test, or if you’ve been told to self-isolate.

We’ll give you a full refund, before or after the event, if you’re unable to attend because you have COVID-19 symptoms, you or someone in your household has had a positive test, or you have been told to self-isolate.

If we cancel a walk, we’ll refund your order. We will also keep your details on file, and give you priority booking for any new walks we organise.

Our walks are extremely popular and usually sell out, please let us know as soon as possible if you’re not able to attend.
