We’ll be celebrating another year of discovery, research and recording at Thames Discovery Programme’s Foreshore Forum

Join us in person or on livestream for a day of talks and workshops on Thames archaeology, with contributions from Thames Discovery Programme staff, volunteers, archaeologists and researchers.

We’re delighted that this year’s keynote speaker will be Gustav Milne, talking about the research behind the book The Thames at War, working with Thames Discovery Programme’s FROG Volunteers.

You can join us in person at the Wolfson Theatre, London School of Economics, New Academic Building, 54 Lincoln’s Inn Fields, WC2A 3LJ. In-person tickets include lunch and refreshments.

Or you can book a ticket to join the online livestream for our morning talks and the afternoon key note speaker. Unfortunately, the afternoon workshops won’t be livestreamed.

In-person registration begins at 10:00am and the talks begin at 10:30am.

COVID-Secure Activities

The safety of all our staff, volunteers and participants is our priority. All our activities are run with COVID-secure risk assessments, in line with current guidance. We comply with the We’re Good To Go Visit England industry standard for activities during the COVID-19 outbreak.

The number of in-person attendees is restricted to allow for social distancing.

All attendees must wear a face covering inside, unless they are exempt.

All attendees must provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test result taken in the last 4 days to attend the Foreshore Forum and access buildings on the LSE campus. You can do this using a home testing kit, and register your result with

More about testing to access LSE’s campus, and where to collect home test kits.

Don’t attend in person if you have COVID-19 symptoms, if you or someone in your household has had a positive test, or if you have been told to self-isolate.

If you book an in person ticket, but are unable to attend on the day, please contact the team for details about how to access the livestream.

We’ll run the event in line with current COVID guidance and restrictions. We will keep you updated on any changes to the requirements for in person attendees.

If changes to the restrictions, or our risk assessment, means we’re unable to run an in-person event, we’ll give you as much notice as possible. If this happens, we will continue with our plans for a livestreamed event, and everyone who has booked a ticket whether in-person or online, will be able to join the livestream.
