Excavations in the Walled Garden

From the 25th-31st July, 1st – 3rd and 6th – 10th August 2012, Fulham Palace is running a community archaeology dig in the Walled Garden at the Palace. There will be three professional archaeologists on site who will be stripping back a layer of topsoil to reveal the archaeology underneath. Fulham Palace has a very long history, and previous archaeological digs have revealed Neolithic, medieval, and Tudor finds. The findings from the summer 2012 dig will be used to help refine plans for planting in the Walled Garden, which is a longer term project.
