Meet Gustav Milne at 11am in front of the Naval Hospital on the steps. The aim is to see what survives of the old Tudor river stairs, contemporary with long-gone Tudor Palace, and other foreshore features. We will then go back up the stairs to visit arguably the most famous and most beautiful of all the historic buildings on the Thames, the stunningly-restored Naval Hospital, star of the Caneletto paintings.

And don’t forget that the National Maritime Museum, the Royal Observatory and the Cutty Sark are all nearby, for other elements of our Maritime history. This will not be part of the ‘official tour’ but well worth a look if you haven’t seen them before!
