The Pumphouse Educational Museum will be open all morning, with it’s amazing collection of social history, an exhibition from the famous biscuit factory, Peek Freans & Co Ltd, artefacts dating from the Roman period, and a unique collection of Mudlarker’s finds from the Thames foreshore. The Lavender Pond & Nature Park will be open, with a Victorian object trail to follow and the opportunity to take part in some pond dipping for mini-beasts! Staff from the London Archaeological Archive and Research Centre will also be on site with local finds from the Rotherhithe area that you can handle, and refreshments will be available at the Museum.
At 11am, there will be a guided walk to the Thames foreshore, where you will be able to see the Thames Discovery Programme team in action, and find out more about the local archaeology on the foreshore.
