2nd June 2010 11am – 3pm

Join the TDP at the RSPB Reserve at Rainham/Purfleet on June 2nd to explore two very different aspects of this Thames-side site. We will be running activities and displays based around both the natural and man made environment including an information stall about the TDP, drop-in finds-handling sessions, a display about the archaeology of birds, a quill making craft session and guided walks. We hope that lots of you will take the opportunity to visit this fantastic site – it’s the furthest east we’ve ventured so far!

You can find out more about RSPB Rainham Marshes and how to get there on the RSPB Rainham events website.

How to Get There

The nearest railway station to this reserve is Purfleet. Purfleet train station is on the C2C line from Fenchurch Street. The reserve is a 15 minute walk from the station following the brown pedestrian signs along the riverside path. Turn right out of the station and then join the path at the Royal Pub. While the Mardyke Bridge is being constructed, please follow the path up a little further to cross a small bridge then follow the road back to the visitor centre. For further directions, please visit the RSPB Rainham website here.
