1970s Foreshore!
Is This You?
The pictures below show children from Prior Weston School (in the City of London) displaying their finds following a mudlarking session on the south west side of Southwark Bridge in around 1979. We could walk to the river from the school and the children had to carry what they found back themselves – hence a trail of long iron chains, animal bones etc on the route home!
If you are in any of the photos, or know anyone who is, do get in touch via the TDP – it would be great to hear more about your adventures on the river all those years ago!
