Where:

Cherry Garden Pier, Bermondsey Wall East, SE16

Getting There:

Car: on-street parking near by.
Tube: Closest station is Bermondsey (check Jubilee Line is working!)
Buses: 47, 381 from London Bridge, C10 from Victoria, 188 from Russell Square.

Proposal:

To explore on foot (unless somebody has a boat!) the foreshore and surroundings from St. Saviours Dock, next to Butler’s Wharf, via Cherry garden Pier to the Mayflower Pub Rotherthithe, for things great and small, ship’s nails to rusty barges. Time, tide and weather permitting.

Weather:

The forecast is for some light rain—which I’m sure we can deal with (bring boots, waterproofs and warm clothing). We can always repair to the Angel for an early lunch if the weather gets really bad.

Bring:

Warm and waterproof clothing and high vis. jacket. Old maps, prints and photographs of the area.

Safety/PLA License:

We are covered by the TDP’s insurance & PLA License, and trained First Aiders will be with us (Elliot & Lorna) but we are also responsible for our own wellbeing!

Expertise:

Fortunately Eliott is joining us (between shoots for a tv. documentary for BBC…watch this space.) So make sure you have got lots of stimulating questions lined up to put to him!

Contact Phone Numbers:

If you haven’t already, let me have a telephone contact number in case there are changes to the plans. You can contact me (Peter) here.
