Modern Ritual Activity

Over the last few years, the TDP has been recording evidence of modern religious activity on sites across the Greater London foreshore, as have the Thames and Field Metal Detecting Society – as you can see in the image below. During the prehistoric period, artefacts and human remains were deposited in the river, while during the medieval period, churches lined the riverfront. In a new Riverpedia article Foreshore Gods, FROG member Ann Sydney examines 21st century ritual activity on the Thames.
