Help Create a TDP Exhibition at Museum of London!
TDP at the MoL…
The Thames Discovery Programme will be holding an exhibition in the Museum of London’s Archaeology in Action gallery, which opened in July last year. From July to September 2011, we will have the opportunity to showcase the work of the TDP and the Foreshore Recording and Observation Group, and we need YOUR help to decide what goes on display.
As part of the exhibition, there is a large display case to fill and we’d like to know what you would want to go in it. As a taster we’ve put together a slideshow of artefacts found on the foreshore over the last two and a half years, which you can see below – some of it is material found by the TDP staff, some has been found by the FROG and other photos show artefacts collected by the Mudlarks.
Nominate Your Favourite Artefact
Do you have a favourite artefact you would like to nominate for inclusion in the display case? Or do you know of an artefact held in the Museum of London’s archive or collections that you think should go on display?
Our deadline is tight, so we’d like to hear from you as soon as possible! If you have an artefact to nominate please email Mike, by 20th May 2011 with a picture of the find and a one line caption, explaining why this artefact is important to you. We might not be able to include all the artefacts you suggest but we’ll do our best!
