Job opportunity with TDP and MOLA!
We are currently recruiting for a Community Engagement Archaeologist to deliver our City Bridge Trust funded programme of work with Londoners over 75, and to support a range of other engagement work undertaken by MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology).
The Role
£25,000 to £28,050 per annum
Permanent, Full time – 37.5 hours per week
Working with MOLA’s longest running engagement project, The Thames Discovery Programme, which turns 10 this autumn, the postholder will deliver our City Bridge Trust funded programme of work with Londoners over 75, accounting for 0.5FTE. This innovative programme uses the TDP’s tried and tested participatory model to engage older groups at risk of isolation through a range of activities including guided walks, reminiscence and oral history sessions, and other events. It is currently funded and programmed to run to c. August 2019, however MOLA is currently in the process of identifying funding to sustain and develop this innovative programme beyond that date.
The remaining 0.5 FTE of the role’s time will be employed across a range of other engagement work undertaken by MOLA, supporting our work to bring the exciting discoveries of development-led archaeology live and direct to a range of audiences. We deliver engagement work across various different types of project, from major road and rail infrastructure schemes to UKRI funded academic research projects. This can take the form of targeted work with harder to reach groups such as those in the Youth Justice system, award-winning schools workshops across a range of age groups, or high profile public events as part of regional or national festivals such as Heritage Open Days, Totally Thames, or London History Day.
For any queries regarding the role please contact Eliott Wragg, TDP Project Officer (ewragg@mola.org.uk) or Sophie Jackson, Director of Research & Engagement (sjackson@mola.org.uk).
